FOAM GROUT

WATER REACTING POLYURETHANE GROUT

Description

Foam grout is an MDI-based polymer system, formulated to meet the requirements of modern building leak repairs. The material is solvent free, and therefore non-flammable and easy to apply. The reaction time can be adjusted by adding FOAM-LYST. FOAM GROUT reacts upon contact with water and forms a closed-cell polyurethane foam, which is specially formulated for building waterproofing purpose.

FOAM GROUT form an excellent barrier against water seepage caused by hydroscopic pressure, has good chemical resistance and is non-toxic once cured. Once injected into a leaking crack, the combination of FOAM GROUT and FOAM LYST (catalyst) reacts when in contact with water, to form an expended pressurized closed cell foam, which creates the barrier against water leakage.

Operation Procedure

FOAM GROUT can be injected by motor driven or manual pump together with the required mechanical packers. Technical experience in operating equipment, and site assessment for suitability of application, may be necessary.

Application

  • Basement Wall
  • Concrete Slab
  • Brick Wall
  • Water Tank Structure
  • Underground Tunnel
  • Sewerage Structure
  • Movement Joint
  • Wet Area, Pipes, Sewer & etc.

Characteristics

  • Rigid and durable once cured.
  • Curing period can be adjusted and controlled.
  • Not hazardous when fully cured.
  • Suitable for wet and dry conditions.
  • Easy application and cleaning.

Storage and Handling

Store in cool dry areas. Temperatures above 50 C may cause premature formation of insoluble solids. Good house keeping is essential in areas where chemical spillage is likely to occur.

Partly used drums should be tightly sealed to prevent ingress of moisture. To increase the materials life expectancy, partially used drum should be filled with Nitrogen and sealed tightly to prevent moisture contamination.

Health and Safety Advice

Skin          : Contact with skin may result in irritation.
Eyes          : A mild to moderate eye irritant.
Inhalation : Vapour may result in headaches, dizziness & possible nausea.

Wash with plenty of water immediately and consult a physician in all cases.

Wear goggles, rubber glove, full clothing when handling raw materials.

MSDS shall be available upon request.

Typical Reaction Data

The reaction time @ 25șC varies with the amount of added FOAM-LYST catalyst and 5% of water existence.
